China Daily Reports on the Achievements of Educational Exchanges between DUT and Japanese Universities

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between China and Japan, which is an important milestone in the history of China-Japan relations. The achievements of educational exchange between Dalian University of Technology (DUT) and Japanese universities have been recommended in the “2022 Special Issue on the 50th Anniversary of Normalization of Diplomatic Relations between China and Japan” by China Daily.

Over the years, DUT has been working hard and fruitfully in the field of Sino-Japanese higher education. Since 1987, the university has established intensive Japanese language classes featuring “Japanese + science and technology” in the disciplines of mechanical engineering, material science, digital media, and software, and in 2013, the first and only Sino-Japanese joint institute in the field of higher education, DUT School of International Information Science & Engineering, was approved by the Ministry of Education, which has cultivated a large number of highly regarded talents in science and technology who are proficient in Japanese. In 2017, DUT President Guo Dongming initiated the “Schoolfellow Friendship Initiative”, and in 2019, the university held the Sino-Japanese Student Exchange Program hosting 373 faculty and students from Japanese partner universities. From 2021-2022, DUT launched 10 commemorative activities with Japanese partner universities online.
