December 12 - The awards ceremony of Mitsubishi chemical scholarship during the 2013-2014 academic year was held in Puyi Hall of Bochuan Library, which was aimed at praising forty-five excellent DUT students. Present at the ceremony were Li Cheng’en and the delegation led by Hidehiko Nakashima, apparitor of Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation, head of the department of research and development accompanied by leaders from Office of Students' affairs, the International Cooperation and Exchange Department, Faculty of Chemical, Environmental and Biological Science and Technology.
In the meeting, Li Cheng’en extended his warm welcome to the delegation and briefed the development of DUT and implementation of the scholarship system. He also showed gratitude for fruitful achievements both sides have made in the field of science and technology innovation and the contribution of Mitsubishi, looking forward to a deeper and longer cooperation.
Hidehiko Nakashima also said the past nine years has seen the successful cooperation between DUT and Mitsubishi, which he hoped, would better introduce Mitsubishi to more and more DUTers, thus instilling new vitality into the company.
The ceremony first began with the list of scholarship winners announced by Zhang Yanjun, director of Office of Students' affairs. The related leaders and guests gave out the prizes to forty-five winners. Zhao Xiaowen, from Faculty of Chemical, Environmental and Biological Science and Technology delivered a speech on behalf of the award winners.
Then in his remark, Hidehiko Nakashima briefed Mitsubishi chemical research and development, and indicated that China would be a principal overseas market of Mitsubishi. He hoped this scholarship could make a difference to the winners and the internship opportunities could help students know Mitsubishi better.
