January 15 – during the 2013-2014 academic year, the entire domestic employment market was stroke by the flood of international economics, especially the civil engineering and the hydraulic engineering industry. In the season of so-called “the most difficult employment”, Faculty of Infrastructure Engineering positively innovated university and enterprise cooperation model and perfect employment guidance system, improving the employment rate to 98.21% among which there are 65% students signing contract with Fortune Global 500 such as China State Construction Engineering (CSCE) and China Communications Construction Company (CCCC), which is a rather high level.
Attaching attention to positive measures and employment atmospheres
The employment word has always been listed in the import agenda of the faculty leader group. Every year from September the faculty has begun to launch relative deployment of employment and follow up the consequent feedbacks in time.
Major chargers and teaching staffs have been paid much importance to during employment work. For instance, the charger of civil engineering discuss training program with students and adjust it in time, in order to meet market demand.
Exploring employment resources through platform and cooperation
Relying on the disciplinary advantage and popularity, the faculty has invited various influential enterprise leaders such as Guan Qing, vice CEO of CSCE, Xu Guang, director of Planning and Design of Ministry of Communications to give speeches and share industrial information with students, helping both the faculty and enterprises to obtain a win-win result.
Internship is a fundamental approach for students to access to the society. The faculty also encourage them to participate intership in Longhu Estate(Dalian) etc. Besides, the first contract of “excellent plan” has been signed between the faculty and the NO.8 branch company of CSCE, as a result 22 students were employed by CSCE successfully.
Perfecting the employment guidance system
The faculty utilizes resources of itself to guide students in form of writing career plan handbooks, launching practical trainings, teaching CV skills or interview tips.
In addition, plenty of competitions about employment gave the students real experience of how to manage work in career.
With the help of Recruitment and Employment Office the faculty won the title of advanced group of employment work in DUT consecutively in 6 years and will go on making much more contribution to the overall employment of DUT.
