Prof. Duan Yinchun and Sun Ximing elected as the Distinguished Professor

The Ministry of Education recently announced annual Chang Jiang Scholars name list of 2013 and 2014, our Professor Duan Chunying from the Faculty of Chemical, Environmental and Biological Science and Professor Sun Ximing from Faculty of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering are elected as Chang Jiang Scholars. So far, the total number of our Chang Jiang Scholars has leaped to 34, including 23 Distinguished Professors and 11 Chair Professors.

"Chang Jiang Scholars Program" was founded by the Ministry of Education and the Li Ka Shing Foundation in Hong Kong in order to improve the academic status of Chinese colleges and universities and revitalization of higher education in China, which is a co-financing project established in 1998. The Ministry of Education implemented a new "Chang Jiang Scholars Program" in 2011. Every year the program would support the appointment of 150 Distinguished Professors and 50 Chair Scholars in colleges and universities.

Professor Duan Chunying, received his Ph.D. in Nanjing University in1992, entered the State Key Laboratory of Fine Chemicals of Dalian University of Technology for teaching and research work served as deputy director of the laboratory. In 2012 he was appointed as the Dean of the School of Chemistry of Dalian University of Technology, engaged in metal - organic supramolecular system assembly and fluorescent sensing and enzymatic simulation research.

Professor Sun Ximing, received his Ph.D. in Northeastern University in 2006 and continued post-doctoral research. He is engaged in research and analysis and application control, network control and other aspects of hybrid systems. He has published more than 60 papers and nearly 30 SCI papers are indexed in SCI journals. In 2009, he was selected in the "New Century Excellent Talents" by Ministry of Education. In 2011, he was awarded by the international top journals Automatica as "2006-2010 Automatica highest quote Paper Award” in automatic controlled areas. In 2013 he won the "national Outstanding Youth Science Foundation."
