April 20 -- On the evening of April 20th, the opening ceremony of 6thDUT Culture Festival and the folk music concert on film songs in TV series and movies concerning Four Classic Chinese Novels is held in the Hill Auditorium. Present at the ceremony are Li Cheng’en, school leaders and reporters from Guangming Daily,Liaoning Daily, etc.
The opening ceremony begins with an original form: Li Cheng’en slides the screen to “open” the link of campus culture festival on DUT Wechat official account, signifying the opening of the 6th culture festival.
Hou Qingmin, deputy director of the publicity department and press center, introduces the schedule of the festival. Plenty of cultural activities will be held during the festival.
After the opening ceremony, the folk music concert on film songs in TV series and movies concerning Four Classic Chinese Novels starts. It provides the audience with strong auditory and visual impact in the combination of classics and modern advanced electronic music elements.
The concert begins with a traditional instruments orchestra namedFrowning in Deep SorrowofA Dream of Red Mansion. Before the performance, the host, Li Xiaoxiang former art director of China National Opera & Dance Drama Theater, introduces the works and ethnic musical instruments. Other performances include Rolling Yangtze River East a Mill(male solo),The Song of Burying Flower(recitation and female solo) and so on. With the warmest applause, the concert ends with the last piece of music,Deep Night, which isplayed in Ching-hu.
Since 2010, five years has seen the success of DUT Culture Festival as a brand of campus culture construction, which is well-welcomed both inside and outside the campus.
