April 25 -- The 5th award ceremony of role models of DUT and 2nd award ceremony of outstanding alumni are held in Hill Auditorium, in which 15 students, 1 student team and 14 alumni are honored. Present at the ceremony are Wei Xiaopeng, Guo Dongming, Jiang Dexue, Li Cheng’en and Lu Zhongchang.
15 students and 1 team, out of 124 participants have been selected through two-month strict investigation and honored with 8 awards respectively, such as social practice, public benefit, academic research, self-improvement, employment model, social work and cultural and sports activities.
In recognition of the great contribution of alumni, the alumni association has started the poll on “Outstanding alumni in 2014”since October, 2014. 14 alumni are honored including Liu Jinghong, assistant of general manager of China Aviation Industry Corporation, Wang Xinhao, president of Shanghai Branch, Shanghai Pudong Development Bank, Ye Zhong, general manager of Hangzhou Steam Turbine Co. etc.
Song Xiquan, one of the honored alumni says,“I cannot be who I am without DUT.” Liu Jinghong also notes,“one idea that keeps in my mind since I went to the society is what I can do for DUT.” Sun Yu also shares his story with the participants and says, “nothing can be more important than the practical spirit of DUT.”
Many attendees are touched by the award ceremony, being ambitious to make their college life valuable and contribute to DUT when they graduate.
