August 27 -- On the morning of August 27th, president Guo Dongming met with Academician Gao Wen, vice chief of National Natural Science Foundation of China in 312 meeting room in the main building. Luo Zhongxuan, president assistant and dean of School of Software Technology, and Zhang Yanjun, director of university office also attended the meeting.
Guo, on behalf of DUT, showed his gratitude to the great support from National Natural Science Foundation of China to basic research works in DUT. Guo said that DUT had proactively promoted deep cooperation with Shenyang Institute of Automation,Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics and other institutes in fields of oceanography as well as interdisciplines of information, manufacture, ocean engineering, etc, aiming at getting great results in ocean information area. He strongly hoped that National Natural Science Foundation of China would continue to support DUT’s basic research works.
Gao Wen spoke highly of DUT’s achievements in information discipline. He said that National Natural Science Foundation of China was initiating a series of projects on underwater robots and hoped DUT could contribute to national ocean strategy through promoting the development of underwater robots to be lighter and smaller.
