August 28-30 -- Standing Committee (Enlarged) Meeting of DUT Party Committee was held in 412 meeting room of the main building. The topic of this meeting was to discuss the reports of autumn cadres meeting and the development of all university works under the goal of “striving for the first class”. University leaders as well as representatives from university office, development and planning department, etc. attended the meeting.
On August 28th, the meeting discussed reports of autumn cadres meeting, summarized works of last semester and arranged works of next semester. All leaders should follow the discussion results and implement all works in the following semester.
On August 29thand 30th, leaders delivered reports on “thoughts and methods of specific works” under the goal of “striving for the first class”, analyzed current situations and problems and proposed new thoughts and innovative methods to break the bottleneck and promote development.
Three days’ discussion covered works on talent cultivation, discipline research, discipline construction, team construction, internationalization, logistic guarantee, party construction, etc. After this, the meeting also made strategic plan and deployment for future works.
The meeting pointed out that central government had passedThe Plan on Promoting Construction of World First Class Universities and Disciplines. It was of great significance for DUT to plan and start well in “striving for the fist class”, promote scientific development of all works, stick to problem oriented as well as conduct scientific research, judgment and thinking to unit thoughts and senses, realizing new development in current situation.
The meeting stressed that DUT’s reform and development was on a key spot. Leaders should stand on a high level, strengthen planning and implementing, continue to lead all departments to study and complete future development thoughts and methods and apply them to practical works. Besides, they should also further improve management level, pay attention to the base and foundation, study and solve existing problems in management, optimize working process, perfect working principles, face up with both inner and outer pressure, make a safe and stable atmosphere and be strict to safety problems.
