Experience sharing meeting of student exchange projects was successfully held

October 11 -- On the evening of 11th October, experience sharing meeting of student exchange projects is held in Baichuan Reporting Hall, hosted by International Office and Student Affairs Department and co-organized by School of Materials Science and Engineering. Ning Guiling, vice president of Dalian University of Technology, addresses the meeting. Attendants include people in charge of Student Affairs Department,Graduate School, Affairs Division, DUT Communist Youth League Committee, International Office and other representatives from all faculties and schools.IMG_5739

Ning expresses that as one of the “985 project” universities, Dalian University of Technology holds the responsibility to cultivate talents for our society. In the process of internationalization, DUT will take this duty as the premise for future developing direction. The aim of this meeting is to offer more information on student exchange projects for the purpose of expanding their view and providing them with more opportunities.

At the beginning, Zhao Shengchuan, the director of International Office, delivers an introduction on student exchange projects of DUT. He stresses that DUT has endeavored to establish more overseas projects for the benefit of its students and achieved rich results. He hopes students can take this chance to learn more, improve themselves and realize their value.1

This meeting consists of three sessions, namely academic exchange projects, cultural exchange projects and the establishment of DUT International Communication Association.

In the first session, students who have taken part in student exchange projects to Japan, Taiwan, Netherlands and the UK share their experiences with the audience in the perspectives of research environment, curriculum, language communication, studentship application, medical and diet differences, etc.

In the cultural communication session, five students who have participated projects to Japan,Taiwan, the US and Korea talk about the differences between two cultures, present their own experiences and point out the impact of these projects.4

At last, the meeting holds the founding ceremony of DICA, which intends to serve as a bridge for students to get instant information about international news, student exchange projects of our university. Leaders of DICA introduce the structure and functions of the association and read the slogan.

Recently, DUT has made great efforts in expanding overseas exchange platforms and exploring projects. The amount of students joining exchange projects has been increased to over one thousand compared with only several in 2005. More and more students pursue the chances to experience a different life abroad through student exchange projects. In order to meet the demands of students, DUT will continue to solve their questions and throw following sharing meetings in the future.
