Aki Iwabuchi from Iwate University visited DUT

October 20 -- On the morning of October 20th , Guo Dongming, President of Dalian University of Technology (DUT) , met with Aki Iwabuchi, President Iwate University (IU) and Matsuo Uemara, Vice president in room 312 of the Main Building. Members from Science and Technology Institute and International Office of DUT also attended the meeting.B71W1534-02

Guo Dongming noted that Iwate University and DUT had enjoyed a long history of cooperation. Recently, in response to the national plan of constructing the first-class universities, DUT, according to the actual situation, had put forward its development aim of racing to the top and taken a series of plans and measures to improve educational quality, among which international cooperation is of vital importance. Guo Dong Ming expressed his hope to further the cooperation, take vigorous action in educational programs and advance the cooperation in the preponderant disciplines as well as exchanges between teachers from both sides, in order to achieve mutual benefits and improvement on international prestige.

Aki Iwabuchi mentioned that among the 42 universities holding international relations with IU, DUT was one of the universities that had established cooperation with IU for longest time. Over many years, both universities had achieved fruitful accomplishments in areas regarding cast, design and mold. Conditions permitting, DUT and IU would continue to set up international institutions to promote cooperation to a more extensive extent, especially in talent cultivating and scientific research.
