October 20 -- The 7th Council Meeting of DUT-BSU (Dalian University of Technology-Belarusian State University) Confucius Institute was held in the conference room of the Main Building on Oct. 20th. Attending the meeting were Guo Dongming, President of DUT, Ning Guiling, Vice President of DUT, Sergey, President of BSU, Oleg, Vice President of BSU, Presidents of the Confucius Institute from both sides and Directors fromSchool ofInternational Education and Office of Administration of the Confucius Institute in DUT. Ms. Ning hosted the meeting.
The meeting approved 2014-2015 annual work report, annual financial report and the work plan for next year, delivered by Guo De, President of the Confucius Institute inBelarus. All attendants further discussed the establishment of a demonstrative Confucius Institute.
Guo Dongming stated on the meeting that the DUT-BSU Confucius Institute had accomplished great achievements in the past year with fully support from BSU and its President Sergey. Hopefully, with joint efforts from both sides, DUT-BSU Confucius Institute would be the most influential Confucius Institute inBelarusand a demonstrative one worldwide. Moreover, it would serve as a bridge for further communication and cooperation between these two universities in scientific researches, talent cultivation, and so on.
Sergey assured that BSU attached great importance to the development of the Confucius Institute. He also expected to make the institute a demonstrative one and strengthen the cooperation with DUT.
Before the council meeting, Guo Dongming, accompanied by Vice President Ning Guiling, met with the delegation headed by Sergey and Oleg in the reception room and conferred Oleg the certificate of being an emeritus professor of DUT.
During the meeting, leaders from two sides exchanged opinions and made an agreement on further extending the area of cooperation. Guo Dongming said the cooperation between two universities had a long history with many great achievements, thus more cooperation shall be anticipated in a near future.
