October 21 -- The seventh meeting of the Tenth Degree Evaluation Committee convenes in the Central Meeting Room on the fourth floor of the main building. Guo Dongming, Chairman of the Degree Evaluation Committee and academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, as well as 20 members of the committee attend the meeting. Professor Jia Zhenyuan hosts the meeting.
The conference has listened to the report given by Professor Zhang Jili, Vice Dean of Graduate School. He introduces the evaluation and defense of academic dissertations as well as the discussion of the Degree Evaluation Committee from different faculties and schools. After the vote, doctoral degrees are conferred upon 110 candidates. The meeting also reviews and discusses on DUT Degree-Conferring Detailed Codes andCollecting Rules of Degree Certificates’ Design.
Guo points out the Degree Evaluation Committee should give full play to check the cultivation quality, especially the quality of diploma thesis. Subsequently, DUT Degree-Conferring Detailed Codes also needs further revisions including various opinions in order to improve the quality of talent-development. At last, Guo emphasizes that discipline construction is the core work of DUT. Different institutes should realize the significance of disciplinary planning and endeavor to promote it proactively.
