From November 23to December 2, Guo Dongming, President of the Dalian University of Technology (DUT) and his delegation attended the Germany-China Higher Education and Innovation Forum, which is co-sponsored by the Ministry of Education of China and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research of Germany and hosted by the China Scholarship Council and the Free University of Berlin. The delegation also visited the Technical University of Berlin, the KTH Sweden Royal Institute of Technology , the University of Jyväskylä, and the University of Bremen. The visit also featured heads and professors of the International Office, the Institute of Science and Technology, the Faculty of Chemical, Environmental and Biological Science and Technology, and the Faculty of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering.
On November 25,Mr.Guo was invited to attend the "Germany-China Higher Education and Innovation Forum" held at the Free University of Berlin. Liu Yandong, Vice Premier of China, delivered a keynote speech at the forum. Chinese and German university presidents gathered together and had a discussion on how to promote the scientific innovation and academic exchange between the two countries, and how to become world-class academic institutes in the academic field.
On November 24, Mr.Guo visited the Technical University of Berlin and held a talk with Vice President Ittel, Dean of School of Mechanical and Transportation, and the leaders of the International Office. The two sides reviewed the exchange activities between the two universities in recent years.
From November 26 to 28, Mr.Guo visited the KTH Sweden Royal Institute of Technology and met with Sigbritt Karlsson, President; Ramon Wyss, Vice President; and Mats Jonsson, Dean of School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.
From November 29 to 30, Mr.Guo visited the University of Jyväskylä and held a talk with President Matti Manninen and Vice President(research) Kaisa Miettinen.
On December 1, Mr.Guo visited the University of Bremen. Annette Lang, Director of the International Office; Walter Lang, Professor of the Department of Physics and Electronic Engineering; and Habil Rodion Groll, Professor of the Department of Mechanical and Program Engineering received the delegation.
The visit strengthens the strategic partnership between DUT and its sister universities in Europe while expanding international cooperation and reputation of DUT.
