On the morning of April 6, DUT’s President Guo Dongming had a meeting with Ching-Jong Liao, president of Taiwan Tech and Duu-Jong Lee, vice president of Taiwan Tech in Room 312 of the main building. An exchange of ideas has been made between the two sides on how to further implement the existing cooperation projects and how to expand cooperation fields in the future. Those who accompanied at the meeting included Lu Zhongchang and Ning Guiling, vice presidents of DUT, as well as heads of Hong Kong-Macau-Taiwan Affairs Office, Faculty of Chemical, Environmental and Biological Science and Technology, Faculty of Management and Economics, and Panjin Campus.
At the welcome reception, Mr. Guo noted that DUT and Taiwan Tech have built a sound and pleasant partnership for a long time. He hoped that the both sides would find more fields to work with each other based on the history of cooperation, especially with student exchange, two-way visit of teachers and joint educational programs, making new breakthroughs in exchange and cooperation between the two universities.
Ching-Jong Liao commented that he gained a better understanding of DUT, and with a great prospect of cooperation, Taiwan and DUT could expect a long-term and stable partnership, which will create a win-win-situation for the two parties.
Ching-Jong Liao, along with other visitors, has paid a visit to the Faculty of Management and Economics and the Panjin Campus after the meeting.
It is said that DUT has signed an Academic Exchange and Cooperation Agreement and an Agreement of Short-term Student Exchange with Taiwan Tech since 2009, under which there have been student exchanges between the two universities for years. So far, DUT has sent 42 exchange students to study in Taiwan Tech while receiving 7 students from the university, with zero tuition fee and credit points mutually accepted. Taiwan Tech sent students to take part in the “Journey of Romance”, a cross-strait cultural workshop that is held by DUT every summer holiday, for many times since 2012. In addition, DUT and Taiwan Tech also signed a Minutes of In-depth Cooperation Discussion Meeting between Taiwan Tech and DUT Panjin Campus in 2015.
