On 3rd May the result of the 21st Chinese May Fourth Youth Medal, which is the highest honor of the young, was published. 20 young men received this award. Among them, Professor Wang Zhengxiong, Vice President of the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering won the award, who was the only selected in Liaoning Province. It was also the first time for the Dalian University of Technology to receive the honor. On the morning of May 4th, Vice President Li Yuanchao met the winners in Beijing.
Wang Zhengxiong is the Vice President of the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering and a doctoral supervisor of the Dalian University of Technology. He takes many roles such as the winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and chief scientist of the National Magnetic Confinement Fusion Project.
