On 24th October, the 19th national congress of CPC ended in Beijing. In the meeting, participants elected the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China that includes 204 members and 172 alternate members. Participants also elected 133 members of the nineteenth Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China. Among all members, DUT alumnus Wan Lijun, Communist party secretary and president of China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese was elected as member of the central committee. DUT alumnus Shen Changyu, Communist party secretary and president of State Intellectual Property Office was elected as alternate member of the 19th central committee.
DUT alumni Wan Lijun is born in July 1957. He studied in DUT mechanical school as a sophomore in 1977 and then achieved his master in DUT 1987. Now he is Communist party secretary and president of China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, a member of Chinese Academy of Sciences, a member of developing countries Academy of Sciences, director of Chinese molecular nanostructure and Nanotechnology Laboratory, director of Beijing National Laboratory for Molecular Sciences, director of Chinese Institute of Chemistry Academic committee. He has ever been the vice president of China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese (part time), president of Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences and President of University of Science & Technology of China. He was also a member of an alternate member of the 19th central committee.
Shen Changyu is born in June, 1963. He studied in DUT mechanical and mechanics to achieve the bachelor and master degree in 1987, 1990. Now he is the Communist party secretary and president of State Intellectual Property Office. He has ever been president of Zhemgzhou University, president of DUT. He was awarded young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions at the national level, the national outstanding scientific and technological workers, and national outstanding professional and technical personnel. He is one of deputies of the 17th and 18th national congress of CPC.
