With the aim of delivering both traditional and foreign excellent culture, teachers, undergraduates and postgraduates of School of Foreign Language organized a series of volunteer teaching activities in Dahua Kindergarten of DUT and Provence Kindergarten on Dec 5.
The kids of these two kindergartens gave a hearty welcome to the volunteer team of School of Foreign Language. After greeting and self introduction, volunteers got the English class started with the well prepared sufficient content. In the class, the volunteer teachers told those little boys and girls the relationship between a country and a family. They explained this profound concept vividly in simple English, which was understood easily by the kids. During the class and conversations these children have been imparted the meaning of patriotism, compassion and eco-friendly. By the end of the class, the volunteers gave those lovely kids jigsaw puzzles of Chinese map as gifts, hoping they could know our homeland better.
This volunteer teaching activity covered all the more than 20 classes of two kindergartens. Over 30 volunteers participated in this project and was divided into two teams, leaded by teachers of School of Foreign Language. Trying to make the teaching content both meaningful and attractive, the volunteers held preparation workshops for several times over the topics of teaching plan, interacting session, scheduling, etc.
