On the afternoon of December 20, a meeting of the standing committee of the party committee (expanding) was held in DUT. This meeting was to convey the spirit of the forum on studying and strengthening and improving ideological and political work in colleges and universities. Wang Hansong, the secretary of the party committee of DUT, presided over the meeting, conveying the spirit of strengthening and improving the ideological and political work and demanded that a new situation is to be created to open up a new phase of ideological and political work in DUT in a new era. The Standing Committee of the DUT Party Committee, the functional departments of the organization, the principles of the unit-in-charge and the secretaries of the second-level party organizations attended the meeting.
At the meeting, Wang Hansong pointed out that since the conference on ideological and political work in higher education in the whole country had been held, the entire university would implement the spirit of the conference as an important follow-up to insisting on running the socialist campuses and assuming the mission of "four services" .
The secretary Wang Hansong said that the party committee of DUT conducted an investigation and study on the first anniversary of the ideological and political work conference of the national higher learning institutions. From the point of view of the investigation and study, that grassroots units should conscientiously implement the spirit of the ideological and political work conference, make useful explorations, introduce innovative measures, form the great work experience and help the Ideological and political work lay a solid foundation. While summarizing achievements, we must also see that there is still a phenomenon of lack of understanding, irregular action and insignificant effects in carrying out the spirit of the conference on ideological and political work in higher education institutions throughout the country. It is necessary for the entire university to further raise political positions and stand on the "four services "mission and the fundamental mission of cultivating people. It is supposed to promote the work and earnestly push forward the ideological and political work with new results and new achievements.
The secretary Wang Hansong stressed that the 19th National People's Congress of the communist party clearly defined socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era. In the new era, higher ideological and political work in colleges and universities would put forward higher requirements. The whole university must accurately grasp the new demands and tasks proposed by the 19th National People’s Congress. We should combine the spirit of the National Conference on Ideological and Political Work in Colleges and Universities with the spirit of the 19th National People’s Congress. It did good to integrate and take a proactive approach, conscientiously vigorously and creatively carrying out ideological and political work to enhance the actual results of the work and create a new situation in the ideological and political work of DUT in a new era.
At the meeting, Zhou Fuzhan, the vice minister of the Publicity Department of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, and the director of the Information Center, reported the situation from the main measures and achievements of the work, the experience and characteristic practices, the existing problems and shortcomings in the work of our university in carrying out the spirit of the ideological and political work conference.
