On the morning of March 26, The Presidium (enlarged) Meeting of the 3rd Session of the 11th Teacher Representatives ’Congress convened in the conference room. Wang Hansong, the secretary of the Party Committee of DUT, presided over the meeting. All the members of the presidium and the secretary of the Party organization of the second-level units attended the meeting.
Secretary Wang Hansong pointed out at that the conference was not only a good tradition for the implementation of democratic management in our university, but also a good form for bringing together the wisdom and strength of the majority of teaching staff and promoting the scientific development of DUT. This year marked the beginning of the implementation of the spirit of the Nineteenth National People’s Congress. It was the 40th anniversary of the reform and opening up, and it was also the beginning year for the university to fully start the construction of a first-rate university. Facing the new task entrusted by the new era, DUT must fully implement the spirit of the party's Nineteenth Nation People’s Congress, and use Xi Jinping’s socialist ideology with Chinese characteristics in the new era as guidance to continuously implement the spirit of the National Conference on Ideological and Political Work in Colleges and Universities, and consolidate and deepen the effectiveness of the inspection and rectification. They must fully implemented the “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan” and first-rate university construction program, the basic tasks of strengthening morality education. Deepening comprehensive reforms, fully mobilizing the polarities of all parties, taking the timeless urgency earnestly and practically, promoting the connotative development of the internal business, and accelerating to build a distinctive world-class university to better fulfill the historical mission of “four services”was also the requirements to them.
Secretary Wang Hansong raised new requirements for this convention. He said that everyone should raise his ideological awareness and actively participate in the meeting with full political enthusiasm. The organization of the meeting must be done well, according to the schedule of the conference and the agenda. The representatives were supposed to attend the conference on time to ensure the conference attendance. They must conscientiously do a good job in the proposal, closely integrate the development plan, and closely link with the actual work, and put forward high-quality proposals on the basis of full investigation and research and extensive consultation with staff members. Furthermore, they must ensure the quality of the conference, broadly promote democracy, fully mobilize the enthusiasm of the delegates, make good comments and suggestions, and form a high-quality group discussion report.
At the meeting, Feng Zhenye, deputy head of the preparatory working group for the Third Session of the 11th session of the Conference, and the chairman of the trade union, reported on the preparations for the conference, the adjustment of the representative of the conference, and the handling of the proposal for the last session.
