On March 24th, the Research Base of Public Hermeneutics and Public Context which under the responsibility of the School of Foreign Languages of DUT has been established. Zhang Jiang, the first Vice President of the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (UCASS), served as the chief expert of the Base.
On the morning of the same day, Wang Hansong, secretary of the Party Committee of DUT, met with Zhang Jiang in the executive building and issued a part-time professor appointment letter. Zhang Zhengwen, Secretary of the Party Committee and Executive Vice President of the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Jin Hu, Vice Chairman of Liaoning Social Sciences Association, Song Dan, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President of DUT, Song Yongchen, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of DUT, relevant personnel of Social Science in China Press and the journal Seeking Truth, relevant persons in charge of DUT's liberal arts construction office, Party Committee Propaganda Department, and School of Foreign Language attended the meeting.
Wang Hansong said that DUT attaches great importance to the study and implementation of the important speech of General Secretary Xi Jinping in the Symposium on Philosophy and Social Sciences. Prof. Zhang Jiang has made great achievements in hermeneutics research. It is believed that the Research Base of Public Hermeneutics and Public Context will produce more original research results under the guidance of Prof. Zhang Jiang and will bring new ideas to DUT’s construction of philosophy of philosophy and social sciences. We hope to take this opportunity to expand and deepen cooperation between the UCASS and DUT and jointly promote the construction of first-class universities.
Zhang Jiang stated that he will work with the faculty and students of DUT to formulate concrete and practical construction and development plans based on the advantages of disciplines, and to make the Research Base of Public Hermeneutics and Public Context concrete and effective. It is hoped that the two universities will be able to carry out more comprehensive strategic cooperation in an even higher, deeper, and broader area.
After the meeting, the unveiling ceremony of the Research Base of Public Hermeneutics and Public Context was held at the China Business Executives Academy, Dalian (CBEAD). Mr.Zhang Jiang, Mr. Song Yongchen, Mr. Jin Hu and the Chief Expert of the Base Prof. Qin Mingli jointly unveiled the Base. Afterwards, Zhang Jiang brought lectures to the audience.
The Research Base of Public Hermeneutics and Public Context is established with the approval of the Liaoning Provincial Association of Social Sciences. It strives to create a national key research base and high-end think tank that integrates talent cultivation, discipline construction, and decision-making consultation. The base currently has a hermeneutic research team made up of more than 30 experts and scholars. It has strong strength and fruitful results. The base currently has four academic platforms, including the journal "Foreign Language Education & Research" sponsored by DUT, the "Literature and Hermeneutics" publication, the annual high-end Hermeneutics Research Forum "Dalian Forum", and the Asia-Pacific and Global Strategy Research Center.
