The 46thGeneva International Exhibition of Inventions was held from April 11th to 15th. Three of DUT's best patents for invention were selected to participate in the exhibition and won unanimous praise from the judges and the audience. Among them, the program "Distributed programmable intelligent control system" led by Professor Zhong Chongquan from Faculty of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering won the gold medal. "A new technology for high quality spinning mesophase pitch based on high temperature coal tar" led by Professor Qiu Jieshan from Faculty of Chemical, Environmental and Biological Science and Technology and the other item "Bionic polarized light navigation sensor" led by Professor Chu Jinkui from School of Mechanical Engineering won silver medals.
The International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva was established in 1973. As an annual exhibition, it has already been held for 46 times until this year. It was held together by the federal government of Switzerland, the state of Geneva, the city of Geneva and the World Intellectual Property Organization. It is also one of the longest and largest invention exhibitions in the world. This year, the exhibition attracted more than 1,000 projects from over 40 countries and regions. It is the fourth time for our university to participate in the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva and we have already won six gold medals which has effectively promoted DUT’s international influence on the field of intellectual property rights.
