The second session of the first council of the DUT Alumni Association was held on the morning of May 5th. Hundreds of alumni from all over the world returned to our university and discovered the future development. Attending the meeting were President Guo Dongming, Vice President Bi Mingshu and famous alumni. The meeting was hosted by Mr. Yang Kexu, the director of the Alumni Office.
Mr. Guo extended his great welcome to our university and all the alumni present here and gave his greeting to alumni all around the world. He said that he could feel the kind of honor of being one of the members of DUT when celebrating the 69th birthday for our university. The next year would be an important point as it should be the 70th anniversary of the establishment of our university and be an important opportunity for the people to get together and to realize the historic crossing. We hoped that all the alumni could return here to share this meaningful period no matter where they would be.
The establishment of the Alumni Alliance of "Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation" could be the most crucial result that had been achieved in the meeting. The alumni around the world were divided into 11 regions and the Beijing region would take the first turn as the leader. And further styles would be put into practice on the basis of different cities to impel the work of mass entrepreneurship and innovation. And further support and devotion would be expected on the basis of time, space and affairs.
During the meeting, Mr. Guo gave the award to the take-turn unit of the alliance. Mr. Bi introduced the plan on how to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the university with alumni around the world and the plan on implementing the work of the alliance. The meeting also voted to approve the first council member adjustment program.
The alumni present here made discussion and advice on the further construction and on the 70th anniversary of the establishment of our university. They agreed to give full play to the alumni as a way of communication, and to inspire the alumni to love our university, to give service and support on the development of alumni, make preparations for the 70th anniversary of the university, and help our Alma mater in the construction of a first-class university.
