Master's Degree in Urban and Rural Planning Received

With the mission given by Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, an evaluation group lead by Shi Nan, the vice president and secretary general of Urban Planning Society of China came to give an evaluation of our master's degree in urban and rural planning major from May 9th to 11th. The members of the team include Professor Yun Yingxia from Tianjin University, Professor Zhai Guofang from Nanjing University and so on.

In May 9th, the evaluation meeting was held. Mr. Jia Zhenyuan, the vice president of our university made his speech to ask those experts to help us to find out the advantages in this major and to give their advice and guidance to improve the contribution of School of Architecture and Fine Art. During the meeting, Dean Fan Yue also gave the working report of the postgraduate education. Relevant and responsible staff from, for example, the School of Graduates attended the meeting.

During the evaluation, the experts visited the infrastructure of our university and had a look on students' works and tests. They also listened to the lessons and held some conferences here.

On the morning of May 11th, President Guo Dongming met the evaluation group in Room 312 of the Main Building and extended great welcome to them. He gave great appreciation to the experts for their help and support. He hoped that further advice can be given to help the major develop better and make more contribution to the layout of urban and rural space and the habitat improvement.

Evaluation feedback meeting was held in the same day in Room 314 of the building of Architecture and Fine Art. They gave full affirmation to our urban-rural planning major and appreciated that this major has developed into the top level of China in a short time. They hoped that we can play a leading role in serving the country's development needs and assuming historical responsibility. Mr. Yuan Jinfu explained the evaluation report from four aspects: inspection overview, teaching conditions and teaching management, university-running characteristics and experience, opinions and suggestions.
