​The 2018 DUT Sports Meeting Was Successfully Held

The 2018 DUT Sports Meeting was successfully held in May 18th. Attending the opening ceremony were the leaders of our university and the relevant people from different departments and faculties. The opening ceremony was held by Mr. Li Pengsong, the dean of Physical Education Department.

 

At eight o' clock, the square teams including students, judges and teachers entered the stadium in their well-designed suits with loud slogan. Their appearance fully showed our positive spirit of being hard-working.

 

Vice president Song Dan delivered his opening speech that the sports meeting is not only a test for athletes' physical quality and psychological ability, but also a test for the tenacious fighting spirit and other comprehensive qualities of the team, for the spirit of the whole university. He hoped that the idea of health can be kept in everyone's heart so that we can put all our energy into constructing our university into the one of top level and into the great rejuvenation of our Chinese dream.

 

A cheer leading team made up of over 700 students and the performance of traditional Kong Fu brought our sincere wish to the 69th anniversary of our university's establishment.

 

After the show, the events began. The athletes were all fighting for their schools and faculties in an exciting atmosphere.

 

The sports meeting ended at 5 o' clock in the afternoon. All the awards were given to athletes and excellent schools and faculties.

 

What needs to be emphasis is that, Liu Yifang from Panjin Campus broke the record in the event of 100 meter hurdles for women, and Shuai Tao from the Authorities broke the record of man's shot-put.

 

In the competition of total score, Faculty of Chemical, Environmental and Biological Science and Technology, Faculty of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering and Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Material and Energy from Group A, and Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, School of Architecture and Fine Art and School of Mathematical Sciences won the top three prizes.

 

In the competition of team score, Faculty of Management and Economics, Panjin Campus and Faculty of Infrastructure Engineering won the top three in Group A, while Faculty of Management and Economics, Faculty of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering and City Institute won the top three in men's events and Faculty of Management and Economics, Panjin Campus and Faculty of Infrastructure Engineering won the top three in women's events. In Group B, School of Energy and Power Engineering, School of Materials Science and Engineering and Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences won the top three in total events while School of Energy and Power Engineering, School of Materials Science and Engineering and School of Architecture and Fine Art won the top three in men's events and School of Energy and Power Engineering, School of Materials Science and Engineering and Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences won the top three in women's events.

 

In the competition of teaching staff, the Authorities, Department of Logistics and Panjin Campus won the top three for their total score and the score for team competition in group A. School of Distance and Continual Education, School of Materials Science and Engineering and the Campus of Development Zone won the top three in total score in Group B. School of Distance and Continual Education, School of Materials Science and Engineering and School of Foreign Languages won the top three in team competition in Group B.

 

The Prize of High Morality were given to Faculty of Chemical, Environmental and Biological Science and Technology, Faculty of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Infrastructure Engineering, Faculty of Vehicle Engineering and Mechanics, Faculty of Management and Economics, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, School of Architecture and Fine Art, School of Foreign Languages, and School of Materials Science and Engineering.
