Hosted by Chinese Institute of Electronics with the co-organizers including it's Communications Branch, Dalian University of Technology and Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, the National Academic Conference on Communication Theory and Technology and Forum on Innovative Development of Communication Fields was held in Dalian. It attracted over 400 specialists and scholars, including seven academicians from home and abroad, to participate in the conference. 70 reports, enterprise demonstrations and field visits were carried out in the conference. These participants not only conducted in-depth exchanges in the academic field, but also provided support for the joint innovation of production, education and research in our university and even in our province.
Mr. Wang Hansong, party secretary of our university, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech to extend the warm welcome for scholars from all over the world. After the basic introduction of our university, he said that the Information and Communications discipline in DUT reached a rapid development in recent years due to our construction on "Double First Class" universities. He hoped that we could learn from Chinese and foreign experts and absorb the latest research results in such a platform of academic communication, in order to comprehensively promote the development of the information and communication discipline of our university, facilitate the construction of "double first-class" university, and to make contributions to the innovation and development of national communication technology.
The opening ceremony was hosted by the director of the Communications Branch of Chinese Institute of Electronics, Professor Zhu Hongbo. Xu Xiaolan, the president of the conference and vice President and secretary general of Chinese Institute of Electronics, and Lu Jianhua, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering delivered opening speeches. Jin Guowei, deputy mayor of Dalian, and Liu Hongyu, director of Dalian Communications Administration delivered speeches.
After the opening ceremony, Mr. Zhang Qinyu, the deputy director of the Communications Branch and professor of Harbin Institute of Technology hosted the academician special invitation report meeting. Six leading international scholars gave their reports at the conference . They are, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Professor Wu Jiangxing from Information Engineering University; academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Wu Peiheng from Nanjing University; academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Yin Hao from Academy of Military Sciences PLA China; academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Lu Jianhua from Tsinghua University; fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, Professor Shen Xuemin from University of Waterloo; and fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, Professor Wang Xianbin from University of Western Ontario.
During the forum, a number of high-level reports, such as Telecom Industry Innovation and Development Symposium Forum, Future Communication Theory and Technology Strategy Seminar, Liaoning Intelligent Information Technology Forum and Industry Docking Seminar were held.
The success of this conference greatly expanded the popularity of Dalian University of Technology, enhancing the influence of our university in the field of information and communication engineering, and further broadening our vision in the field of information science. It greatly promoted the development of the School of Information and Communication Engineering in our university.
