Recently, the first meeting of the 2018-2019 school year of the Joint Management Committee of the Leicester International College of Dalian University of Technology was held in Room 412 of the administrative building in DUT. Guo Dongming, President of Dalian University of Technology, Zhu Hong, Vice President of DUT, Paul Boyle, President of University of Leicester, Paul Monks, Vice President of University of Leicester, and directors of the Academic Affairs Office, the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, and the Leicester International College of Dalian University of Technology attended the meeting. Paul van Gardinge, president assistant of the University of Leicester, UK, and the directors of its financial and academic offices attended the meeting via video.
The meeting started from the work report of the 2017-2018 school year by the director of Leicester International College. The members of the Joint Management Committee unanimously agreed that in the past year, Leicester International College has carried out a lot of work in institutional construction, admissions publicity, professional construction, teaching staff, student cultivation, cooperation and exchanges, and has achieved a lot of progress. The next step should be taking new measures to improve quality and efficiency, and promoting the comprehensive development of the college.
At the meeting, both sides stated that they would further deepen cooperation meaning, expand cooperation areas, enrich the content of cooperation, and promote in-depth cooperation between the two universities through the cooperative construction of Leicester International College. The meeting then discussed the development plan of the college of next year and reached consensus on the establishment of senior operational teams, enrollment expansion, and promotion of all-round cooperation. The meeting also praised the operational situation and conditions of the college in the past year and showed confidence to the future of the college. It was hoped that the college could be a successful model for Sino-foreign cooperative education.The meeting also discussed other matters such as personnel, finance and so on.
