Wang Hansong,secretary of the Party Committee of DUT Visited Alumni and Aid Cadres in Xinjiang.

On the afternoon of September 28th, Wang Hansong, secretary of the Party Committee of DUT, and Song Yongchen, the member of Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of DUT paid a special visit to some alumni and aid cadres working in Xinjiang, encouraging them to inherit the red gene of DUT and to make contributions to building a strong, democratic, civilized, harmonious and beautiful Xinjiang.

 

At the symposium, thirteen alumni recalled their college life in DUT, thanked alma mater’s cultivation, introduced their jobs, and gave advices on the development of the university. Secretary Wang Hansong said that the contributions of Dalian University of Technology to the development and construction of Xinjiang were not only reflected in the technological and talent support, but also in the outstanding students cultivated by DUT working in various industries for the development of Xinjiang. Seeing the contributions of alumni to the economic and social development of Xinjiang in all walks of life, the alma mater was proud of them. The alumni in Xinjiang have made important contributions to promoting cooperation and exchanges between our university and Xinjiang and the development of the university. The university was grateful for their contribution. As the core area of the Silk Road Economic Belt, Xinjiang has broad development prospect and it will provide a big development stage for all alumni. It was hoped that the alumni would inherit the excellent traditions of the great work, integrate their personal careers into Xinjiang's economic and social development, thus the students would become an important force in promoting the construction of the pilot zone for the innovation and development of the Silk Road Economic Belt in Xinjiang It was also hoped that the alumni in Xinjiang would make contributions to promoting the construction of the first-class university of the alma mater.

 

The aid cadres Yang Dezheng, Chen Bingcai and Dang Wei made reports on their work in Xinjiang. Secretary Wang Hansong praised their work and said that the teachers chose to aid Xinjiang, which reflected their high sense of political responsibility, strong sense of professionalism and vision of overall situation. He hoped that all teachers here would cherish the time in Xinjiang, inherit the red gene of DUT and make contributions to the work of aiding Xinjiang.

 

It is known that our university always adheres to the "Talent Support to Xinjiang". We have set up preparatory classes for ethnic minorities in Xinjiang since 1980. It is one of the earliest preparatory classes for ethnic minorities in China. In the past 38 years, we have cultivated more than 2,000 students from more than 40 ethnic minorities such as Uygur and Kazak in Xinjiang, and trained more than 4,000 minority trainees through training courses for Xinjiang minority enterprise management cadres. We have won the title of "National Model of National Unity and Progress" for four times. In addition, our university actively implemented the requirements of the CPC central committee, participating in the program of aiding cadres for Xinjiang organized by the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the CPC for 11 years. We have selected 21 cadres to Xinjiang, making contributions to the work of aiding Xinjiang.
