On the afternoon of August 26, Zhang Xiangmu, the Chairman of the Technical Advisory Committee of the "China Shipbuilding Low-Speed Aircraft Engineering (Phase I) Development Project" and the former Director of the Equipment Industry Division of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, visited DUT, giving advice to DUT and guiding the development of technology of DUT. Wang Hansong, Secretary of DUT’ s Party Committee, met with visitors in Room 312 of the main building. Song Yongchen, member of the Standing Committee of the School Party Committee and Vice Principle, and the relevant person in charge of the School of Energy and Power Engineering and the Institute of Science and Technology accompanied the meeting.
Secretary Wang Hansong welcomed Zhang Xiangmu and his entourage, pointing out that Dalian University of Technology has closely integrated the development of itself with the service for the country's economic and social construction since its inception, and has consciously assumed the mission of strengthening the country. Wang said that university was an important place for scientific and technological innovation. It was the unshrinkable responsibility of DUT to implement the important exposition of General Secretary Xi Jinping on the strengthening of science and technology, to strengthen scientific and technological innovation, and to serve the country's major strategic needs with strong technology supply. He hoped that all experts would provide valuable opinions and suggestions for the work of science and technology innovation in DUT, and help the large-scale workers to upgrade their scientific research level, so that the DUTers could play a greater role in realizing the strategy of “strengthening the country through science and technology”.
Zhang Xiangmu said that DUT had strong scientific research strength and abundant human resources with outstanding achievements in the fields of energy, water conservancy, port engineering, shipbuilding, mechanics and civil engineering. It was hoped that DUT would give more attention and support to the "China Shipbuilding Low-speed Aircraft Engineering (Phase I) Development Project" to help improve the independent innovation capability of China's marine low-speed aircraft and contribute to the development of China's shipbuilding industry.
Low-speed machine engineering is the largest internal combustion engine project currently implemented in China. The implementation of the “China Shipbuilding Low-speed Aircraft Engineering (Phase I) Development Project” marks the official launch of China’s low-speed machine independent innovation journey. Through the whole process of research and development from basic to product, it is expected that in the near future, changing the state of license production for decades will be of great significance to the development of ship engines.
