Cooperation with CCCC and Tianjin RIWTE

On the morning of October 15, Lin Ming, chief engineer of China Communications Construction Co., Ltd. and general manager of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Project, led a delegation to visit DUT and signed an industry-university-research cooperation agreement with DUT.

Chief Engineer Lin Ming, Dean of the Tianjin Research Institute for Water Transport Engineering, M.O.T, Zhang Huaqin, and Director of the State Key Laboratory of Coastal and Offshore Engineering, Dong Guohai, signed the cooperation agreement on the production, education and research of suspension tunnel technology on behalf of the three parties. The agreement pointed out that the three parties will establish a cooperative relationship between industry, academia and research through various forms and multi-level technical exchanges, establish a close cooperative relationship, and realize resource sharing in project setting, resource allocation, personnel training, and results sharing, and promote technical research work of the floating tunnel project.

 

During the meeting, President Guo Dongming said that the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge fully reflects the tremendous efforts and contributions made by China Communications Construction Company for nation building. "Floating Tunnel Engineering Technology Research" is a major scientific research project facing the international science and technology frontier and facing the country's major strategic needs. It is hoped that through this signing, the three parties will work together to promote China's floating tunnel engineering technology to lead the world.

The chief engineer of Lin Ming said that over the years, DUT has made important contributions to the development of the country's social and economic development. During the construction of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, many alumni of DUT participated in and played a major role. The signing of the contract is not only the fruit of close cooperation between the three parties over the years, but also a new starting point for cooperation. It is hoped that the three parties will strengthen communication and exchanges, complement each other's advantages, and accelerate the advancement of floating tunnel engineering technology research.

 

After the meeting, Lin Ming and his entourage furthered their understanding of the scientific research strength of the relevant disciplines of the school and the report of the research work of the Department of Engineering Mechanics, the Faculty of Infrastructure Engineering, the School of Control Science and Engineering, and the School of Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering.
