Guo Dongming, the president of DUT visited Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. (COMAC) on October 31st, 2018 and signed a Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement with COMAC to further strengthen the previous cooperation achievements and establish a strategic cooperation relationship. Mr. He Dongfeng, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of COMAC, Mr. Zhao Yuerang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and general manager of COMAC, Mr. Liu Linzong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and deputy general manager of COMAC and Wu Guanghui, deputy general manager of COMAC attended the signing ceremony. Song Yongchen and Liu Linzong signed the agreement on behalf of the two sides.
Mr. Guo Dongming congratulated COMAC on its success achieved in the ten years since its establishment. He pointed out that COMAC undertook the important mission of the national major science and technology special project as the development and production of airliners faced the national strategic needs and the forefront of global science and technology. He also said that DUT attached great importance to this cooperation and we would give full play to our advantages in resources to make breakthroughs in core technologies and strive to push bilateral cooperation to a new height, boosting the further development of China's aviation industry.
Mr. He Dongfeng expressed gratitude to DUT for its long-term concern, support and help in the airliner career. He pointed out that this cooperation is an important step for both sides to further promote university-industry cooperation and establish a comprehensive strategic cooperation relationship on the basis of consolidating the previous cooperation achievements. He hoped that both sides could further study and implement the spirits of the major instructions made by General Secretary Xi Jinping on airliner career, focus on type development, key core technologies and industry cultivation, and boost in-depth cooperation in major fields to jointly promote the healthy and steady development of China-made commercial aircraft.
Mr. Zhao Yuerang expressed that the signing of this Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement was an important step for both sides to thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirits of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC).It was also the important measure to study and implement the spirits of the major instructions made by General Secretary Xi Jinping on airliner career, and strengthen university-industry cooperation and collaborative innovation. He hoped that both sides could remember the mission and work together to make contributions to the realization of the China Dream and the airliner dream.
According to the Agreement, DUT and COMAC would give full play to their advantages on resources, focus on the research & development, industrialization and operation support of commercial aircraft, and establish a strategic cooperation relationship in scientific research cooperation and talent cultivation in order to form a long-acting mechanism that closely integrates production, education and research between the university and the industry.
Before the signing ceremony, President Guo Dongming visited centers and production lines of COMAC. The relevant leaders and experts of the Faculty of Chemical, Environmental and Biological Science and Technology, the Faculty of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering, the Faculty of Vehicle Engineering and Mechanics, the Faculty of Infrastructure Engineering, the School of Mechanical Engineering, the School of Energy and Power Engineering and the School of Software Technology attended the visit and the signing ceremony.
