On the morning of November 6, President Guo Dongming met with Wang Fengjun, the mayor of Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province in Room 312 of the Main Building. The two sides exchanged views on further improving the construction of the Chengdu Research Institute of Dalian University of Technology and strengthening the cooperation between the two sides. Song Yongchen, the member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of DUT, and the leaders and relevant experts of the Science and Technology Research Institute, Industrial Investment Co., Ltd., and the Faculty of Chemical, Environmental and Biological Science and Technology attended the meeting.
President Guo Dongming said that the industrial planning of the Chengdu Petrochemical Industrial Park was closely integrated with the dominant disciplines of DUT. And we would rely on the research institute to further implement its advantages in scientific research and personnel training, contributing to the industrial transformation in Chengdu and the entire southwest region.
Mayor Wang Fengjun said that Pengzhou was an accumulation area for Chengdu's petrochemical, aerodynamics, biomedical and other relevant industries. He hoped that DUT would give more valuable advices on the construction and planning of the industrial park, promote the transformation of technological achievements in Pengzhou through the joint construction of the Chengdu Research Institute of Dalian University of Technology and realize a win-win situation.
The Chengdu Research Institute of Dalian University of Technology is a new research and development institution jointly established by our university, Pengzhou Municipal Government and Chengdu Petrochemical Park. It conducts scientific research and transformation of achievements for petrochemical, biomedical and aerospace industries. Chengdu will give key support in aspects of funds, venues, policies, etc. It is a new measure for our university to implement scientific research advantages and promote the transformation and upgrading of local industries in southwest region.
