On November 26, Yang Jun, deputy secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and mayor of Baoshan, Yunnan Province, and Yang Saiguang, deputy secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, visited Dalian University of Technology to deal with the poverty alleviation work. Wang Hansong, secretary of the Party Committee of the university, Jiang Dexue, deputy secretary of the party committee, and Yang Bingjun, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Minister of the Organization Department of DUT, met the visitors in Room 412 of the Main Building.
Secretary Wang Hansong said that resolutely fight against poverty was a major decision made by the Party Central Committee and the State Council and it was also an important symbol for achieving the goal of building a moderately prosperous society. Dalian University of Technology attached great importance to the poverty alleviation work of Longling, forming a high consensus among the whole university, actively responding to the call of the Party Central Committee and implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping’s poverty alleviation thoughts. We took the targeted poverty alleviation work as a social responsibility of the university and gave full play to the advantages of education with a high degree of political conscious and action conscious to engage in the poverty alleviation work. In June, the party committee of the university made a special trip to Longling to make research on poverty alleviation work, and got the first-hand information, which laid a solid foundation for the further work. In the next step, we would combine the needs of Longling, mobilize the strength of the whole university, maintain its advantages, increase the support, fill shortcomings, and help Longling achieve its goal of poverty alleviation.
Mayor Yang Jun said that since Longling became the poverty alleviation target of DUT in 2013, DUT has attached great importance to poverty alleviation work and has taken its own advantages to make poverty alleviation achievements on education, social and industrial development combined with the specific situation of Longling. DUT also selected outstanding cadres who played important roles in poverty alleviation. We appreciated the support. In the crucial stage of poverty alleviation, Longling had arduous tasks and glorious missions. It was hoped that Dalian University of Technology would give more support and we would work together to achieve the goal of getting rid of poverty and finally met the people’s expectations for a better life.
During the meeting, Jiang Dexue, the deputy secretary of the Party Committee of DUT, Yang Saiguang, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of BaoShan, Yang Shaoyan, the deputy secretary of the Party Committee and the county chief of Longling made relevant reports and discussed on the further communication. Relevant leaders from offices, Investment Company and Faculty of Management and Economics also attended the meeting
After the meeting, Jiang Dexue accompanied Yang Jun and his team to visit the Collaborative Innovation Center of Major Machine Manufacturing in Liaoning.
