On the morning of the December 8, the Ningbo Institute of Dalian University of Technology was formally established. The member of the Standing Committee of DUT Party Committee, the Vice President Song Yongchen, the member of the Standing Committee of DUT Party Committee, the Vice President Yao Shan, the Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering Yan Xigao, the Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Peng Xiaojun, the alumni of our university, the academician of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, Sun Yu and the relevant leaders of Ningbo City witnessed the unveiling ceremony together. More than 400 alumni and entrepreneurs attended the meeting. The meeting was hosted by Bi Mingshu, the member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of DUT.
Zheng Shanjie said that Dalian University of Technology was a world-class university (Class A) building universities, whose advantageous disciplines and development directions were highly consistent with Ningbo's leading industries and development strategies. The cooperation between the two sides was a strong alliance between the famous city and the prestigious university and a complementary integration of industry and technology, which would certainly achieve good results. At the same time, he hoped that the experts, scholars and alumni of DUT would speak freely, and provide more ideas to support the high-quality development of Ningbo.
Shen Changyu said that as the home of many Chinese Academicians, Ningbo always attached great importance to industrial transformation and technological innovation. The cooperation between the two sides was a good strategy. It was hoped that both sides would further deepen cooperation and jointly develop the Ningbo Research Institute of Dalian University of Technology into a strategic research platform for the high-quality development of Ningbo. He also said that the State Intellectual Property Office would fully support the industry, university and research cooperation between the two sides, providing a better environment for innovation and business development in Ningbo.
Wang Hansong said in his speech that Dalian University of Technology was highly consistent with Ningbo's industrial development in many disciplines such as high-end equipment manufacturing, new materials technology, fine chemicals and artificial intelligence research. The two sides had already cooperated in various fields and achieved remarkable results. DUT was always committed to serving the country's major strategic needs and local economic development, exerting its talents and technological advantages. It was believed that with the establishment of the Ningbo Research Institute as an opportunity, DUT would surely promote the cooperation with Ningbo, bringing together high-level talents from all over the world, building major scientific research platforms and making new breakthroughs in major achievements transformation. In June of this year, DUT signed the strategic cooperation agreement with Ningbo to jointly promote cooperation in five major areas including the construction of Ningbo Research Institute of Dalian University of Technology. The institute is located in Jiangbei District, Ningbo City. It has finished the site selection work and will be officially put into operation in the second half of next year. It will become an important research platform of the Yongjiang Science and Technology Grand Corridor.

On the afternoon of the 8th, Ningbo High Quality Development Seminar was held.
