On the morning of February 25th, President Guo Dongming met with Liu Fang, the deputy director of Foreign Affairs Office of Dalian Municipal People's Government in Room 312 of the Main Building. The two sides communicated on the foreign affairs. Accompanied with them were President Assistant Luo Zhongxuan, and relevant people in charge of School of International Education, International Exchange and Cooperation Department Office for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs.
After the warm welcome to the visiting group and the brief introduction of the basic situation of our foreign affairs, President Guo Dongming thanked Foreign Affairs Office of Dalian Municipal People's Government for its great support for our foreign affairs. He also expressed that in the rapid development of the globalization of the higher education; we will promote our strategy of going into the world and build the world's first-class university. Due to the mutual reliance between our university and Dalian city, we also hope to strengthen the connection and communication with government agencies. At a high starting point, we will promote the construction of the world first-class university. Meanwhile, we will play a more important role in the development of Dalian city.
Liu Fang highly praised the achievements of the foreign exchange of our university in recent years, and introduced the relevant situation of Dalian's management of going abroad for business reason. She said that the Office of Foreign Affairs will continue providing Dalian University of Technology with the service and platform of the foreign exchange and communication work, so as to put forward the international communication and exchange into further development.
After the conference, the two sides held a seminar to discuss on the issues of common concern and shared their opinions.
