At the beginning of the new semester, the teaching staff and students have attached great passion to their work and study and reached a good atmosphere of teaching and studying. Together with other university leaders, Secretary Wang Hansong and President Guo Dongming went to check several classes about their teaching and learning so as to lead further direction.
On the morning of February 26th, Secretary Wang listened to "The Philosophy of Confucianism" taught by Mr. Wang Lei and "Civil LawⅡ" by Mr. Zhang Wanbin from Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. After that, he made the inquiry on the design and arrangement of courses. Secretary Wang encouraged teachers to give more interaction with students during the lecture, while the students were encouraged to read more classics to enrich their knowledge system and structure. He also offered his advice that the content of the course should closely link with the reality of social development and the direction of the development and reform of China. Teachers and professors should use vivid cases to help their students think actively so as to create good atmosphere and inspire students' ideas.
On the morning of February 25th, President Guo listened to the bilingual course "Mass Transfer and Separation" taught by Professor Wang Yao from Faculty of Chemical, Environmental and Biological Science and Technology and "News Communication Ethics and Regulations" by Ms. Lei Lili from Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. President Guo made records and had nice talk with the teachers on the design and content arrangement of the courses. He hoped that the teachers could enrich their courses and lessons, innovate their teaching method skillfully so as to provide better courses with higher efficiency, attractiveness and excellency.
During the beginning of this semester, the university leaders, Office of Affairs and experts from Education and Research Advisory Group conducted inspections on all courses in the university, which numbers up to 775. And according to the reflection, on the first day of the new semester, the teachers and students were full of passion; the teachers' teaching attitude was correct and the preparation was sufficient; the students listened carefully and responded positively, and the average attendance rate is over 98%. All these reflect the good teaching style and study style.
2019 is the starting year of implementing the spirit of the National Education Conference when we are focused on promoting the deployment of the undergraduate education work conference of colleges and universities in the new era as well as the year of tackling difficulties in the education system. A whole year's work depends on a good start in spring. After the mobilization and discussion in the 16th seminar of the undergraduate education, our university will regard promoting the reform of course teaching as the key to the construction of the first-class undergraduate education. The new semester is coming and the new work is coming.
