On the morning of January 4, Principal Guo Dongming met with Tong Dehui, Vice President of Weichai Power Co., Ltd. in the 312 meeting room of the main building. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening scientific and technological cooperation and establishing a school-enterprise cooperation platform. Relevant people in charge of the Science and Technology Research Institute and some related academic college professors accompanied the meeting.
Principal Guo said at the meeting that DUT would continue to adhere to the fundamental task of cultivating people, taking talent cultivation as the core, deepening comprehensive reform, strengthening the connotation characteristics, always facing the major needs of the country, and earnestly practicing the "four services", attaching great importance to the role performed in the school-enterprise cooperation. Moreover, DUT has had a cooperation experience with Weichai and established a good foundation for cooperation. It was hoped that this visit would further deepen understanding and strengthen cooperation and promote mutual development.
Tong Dehui introduced the current development of the six business platforms of Weichai Power System, Intelligent Logistics, Automobile Business and Construction Machinery. He said that Weichai Group has cooperated extensively with universities in recent years and achieved good results. At present, the Group hopes to strengthen scientific and technological innovation, expand new fields, and be able to conduct in-depth exchanges with large-scale workers on the technical level and establish strategic partnerships.
Tong Dehui and his party also visited the State Key Laboratory of Structural Analysis of Industrial Equipment, the Key Laboratory of Precision and Special Processing Ministry of Education and the Laboratory of Internal Combustion Engines.
