In order to deepen the reform and innovation of our ideological and political theory course and perform our work of educating talents and shaping their morality well, a seminar for School of Marxism Studies was held to implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's spirit in Ideological and Political Theory Course Teacher Symposium for colleges and universities on the afternoon of March 20th. Secretary Wang Hansong attended the seminar and gave his requirement on how to implement this spirit. Accompanied him were deputy secretary and vice principle Song Dan, who made a speech about his learning experiences. Mr. Hong Xiaonan, dean of School of Marxism Studies, shared his feeling and experience of attending the symposium as its participants. During the seminar, representatives of teaching staff and students of School of Marxism Studies made their statements as well.
Secretary Wang pointed out the great significance beheld in General Secretary Xi Jinping's speech, which implied strong strategic and practical meaning, and theoretical and methodological meaning in-depth. As the background and basis, the historical achievement of China has been linked with our education, while the essential mission of educating talents and shaping their morality with the ideological and political theory course. And the background of history and reality above could be regarded as a lighthouse which guided the direction for the development of ideological and political theory courses, the principles for the "eight unify" in the course reform and innovation, and the need for teachers of this course. Our general secretary's detailed focus on a specific course has already showed the norm of looking far ahead from a high plane which is beheld by the leading core of the Communist Party of China, which should be regarded as an example of our theory and methodology.
All teachers for the ideological and political theory course should be required to learn the spirit of General Secretary Xi's order in-depth and implement it into their practice. Secretary Wang emphasized that the teachers should teach with unbreakable trust to the theory, keep on innovation in the right direction, and strengthen the ideology, theory and appetency. He also raised several questions for the teaching staff, which need their practice as the answer.
Secretary Wang Hansong hoped that School of Marxism Studies could catch the opportunity provided by this symposium, so as to uplift itself on this new starting point. Under the guidance of the spirit of General Secretary Xi's speech, the school should keep their mission in mind and live up to our expectation that it will perfect the course system, strengthen the teaching staff, and accelerate the construction of national key school of Marxism studies. With the faith towards the education work of our party, it will continue inheriting the tradition of Dalian University of Technology in the new era, educating talents that can take the responsibility of the great rejuvenation of our country and excellent constructors of our socialism.
During the meeting, Mr. Song Dan expressed that teaching staff of School of Marxism Studies should learn the core of the spirit in General Secretary Xi's speech in-depth and follow the requirement of the party committee of our university to accelerate the construction of the national key school of Marxism studies and strengthened the construction of the teaching staff. They should stabilize their mind, improve their ability and strengthen their responsibility to uplift the quality of ideological and political theory course, implement the essential mission of educating talents and shaping their morality, and help make the Xi Jinping's New Era of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics guide our further direction.
As one of the participants in the symposium, Mr. Hong Xiaonan conveyed the spirit and shared his experience. He expressed that the speech of General Secretary Xi were high-minded and rich in content, which possessed both theoretical ideology and General Secretary Xi's own understanding. As a participant, Mr. Hong realized the importance of his responsibility and the glorious mission. He promised that School of Marxism Studies would hold the opportunities to accelerate the construction to make their school into one of national key importance. And the teaching staff would also show their activeness and creativeness, and put the essential mission of educating talents and shaping their morality into practice.
In the seminar, representatives of teachers including Chen Xiaohui, Xu Chengfang, Liu Pengfei and Zhang Chi made their own statement that they appreciated General Secretary Xi's profound meaning and long view in his words. They promised to implement the orders as the teachers wording on the front line, keep the glorious mission in mind, and educate more students with steady belief, so as to be good teachers of ideological and political theory course. Student representative Li Qi said that it's important to stabilize the political belief and improve the skills to become a good teacher in this course and the inheritor of the great rejuvenation of our nation.
This meeting was held by Zhang Xinkui, the deputy secretary of the party committee of School of Marxism Studies. Attending the seminar were Publicity Department, Information Center, relevant from School of Marxism Studies in charge, and their teaching staff and student representatives.
