On the afternoon of April 25th, the ASC19 World University Supercomputer Competition jointly organized by Asia Supercomputing Association, Dalian University of Technology and Inspur Group was successfully held at Dalian University of Technology.
There were more than 300 college teams from all over the world to sign up. After the preliminaries, 20 teams would advance to the finals. In the end, National Tsing Hua University and Tsinghua University won the championship and runner-up respectively. The team from DUT won the first prize of the competition.
During the competition, two seminars, “Influence and Challenges of Artificial Intelligence and Supercomputing” and “Artificial Intelligence and Supercomputing Innovation”, hosted by Professor Cong Fengyu and Professor Fan Xin respectively, attracted much attention from a wide range of teachers and students.
The ASC World University Supercomputer Competition was initiated by China and has become one of the three most influential super-computing events in the world. The competition aims to promote the training and exchange of super-accounting young talents between countries and regions, enhance the application level of super-computing and research and development capabilities, and exert the super-technical driving force to promote technology and industrial innovation. The contest has been held for 8 consecutive years, attracting more than 7,000 college students from all over the world. It is currently the world's largest and most attended college student super-competition event.
