The friendship between peoples is the foundation of state to state relations. The friendship between China and Japan is ultimately the friendship between the two peoples. The exchange of youth plays an important role in China-Japan exchanges. On the morning of April 30th, the “China-Japan Student Exchange Conference” was held at Dalian University of Technology.
As part of the “China-Japan Youth Exchange Promotion Year” series, and the “Chinese and Foreign College Student Exchange Activities” of the Dalian University of Technology’s 70th Anniversary Celebration, the event attracted nearly 400 teachers and students from 27 universities and relative institutions in Japan.
At the opening ceremony, representatives of teachers and students from China and Japan left colorful handprints on the theme board of the event to jointly draw a picture bearing the beautiful meaning of friendship between China and Japan for generations.
In the afternoon, representatives from China and Japan conducted in-depth discussions on the“Schoolfellow Friendship” Initiative and the “Sakura Science and Technology Plan”.
It is reported that during the five-day event, Japanese young students will experience Chinese classes in different schools of DUT, namely School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Materials Science and Engineering, Faculty of Infrastructure Engineering, School of Architecture and Fine Art, School of Foreign Languages, DUT—RU International School of Information Science & Engineering at DUT. They will participate in experimental courses with Chinese teachers and students, appreciating the charm of technological interaction. Students from two countries will also communicate on their own culture and campus life.
Li Tianran, Consul General of China in Osaka, and Sun Dagang, Consul General of China in Niigata, sent a congratulatory letter on the grand opening of the event and wished the event a complete success.
