DUT Foreign Languages Faculty and Students Contributes to Prevent and Control COVID-19

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, more than 50 teachers and students of School of Foreign Languages have given full play to their professional advantages to help prevent and control the epidemic under the guidance of the Party Committee of School of Foreign Languages.

They have participated as remote translation volunteer of emergency support group of Wuhan Pneumonia Command Center.

   

The Associate Dean, Prof. Li Xiuying, got the notification in a WeChat group of academic exchange that the emergency support group of Wuhan Pneumonia Command Center needed professional translation support. Prof. Li immediately applied to join the translation review team and made the designation of the standard documents of the American Institute of Material Testing: F 1670 -- 03Standard Test Method for Resistance of Materials Used in Protective Clothing to Penetration by Synthetic Blood. Due to the urgent time, Prof. Li asked colleagues for help, and many faculty members responded positively and volunteered to join in, and the work was completed in the same day. Acknowledging this, the Party Committee of the School arrange to set up a remote translation volunteer team, many faculty members, graduate students and undergraduate students join in the team to take an active part to contribute to the prevent and control of COVID-19 work.
