On the morning of November 29th, the donation ceremony of the famous photographer Liu Heung Shing’s photo work was held at DUT History Museum, which was jointly organized by Alumni Office and Archives of DUT (History Museum).

This photograph was taken in 1981 by the Pulitzer-prize-winning photographer Liu Heung Shing, describing a young man passing by the Statue of Chairman Mao on roller skates at DUT campus. It was also selected as the cover of Liu’s photo book China After Mao, which focusing mostly on the activities of the ordinary people in the early period of reform and opening-up. The photograph and the photo book have been placed in Alumni Hall on the third floor of DUT History Museum.

According to Wu Xueliang, an alumnus of class 1991 in the School of Chemical Engineering, as well as the founder of Taoli Bread Company in Shenyang, China, he happened to see this photograph at the 13th Shanghai Biennale and was surprised to find that the scene was the main building of DUT.
