The Online Opening Ceremony of the 15thAnniversary of the Inter-University Agreement between Dalian University of Technology (DUT) and Tokyo Institute of Technology (TIT) and the Anniversary Commemoration of the Cooperation between DUT and Japanese Partner Universities was held both online and offline recently. Hu Zhiping, Minister Counsellor of the Education Section of the Chinese Embassy in Japan, Maesawa Ayako, Counsellor of the Press and Culture Center of the Japanese Embassy in China, Kazuki Okimura, Honorary President and Haruko Yoneyama, Executive Director of Japan Science and Technology Agency, Kazuya Masu, President of TIT, Jun-ichi Takada, Vice President of TIT, Hu Bingxia, Vice President of Dalian People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Guo Dongming, President of DUT, and Luo Zhongxuan, the University Leader for International Affairs of DUT, attended the event.
Both representatives of Chinese and Japanese educational communities believe that the Anniversary Commemoration of the Cooperation between DUT and Japanese Partner Universities plays an important exemplary role in promoting the resumption and development of exchange and cooperation between Chinese and Japanese universities. The university leaders from DUT and TIT reviewed the history of cooperation between the two universities and expressed the hope that they will continue to deepen exchanges and cooperation in the future and make more contributions to the friendly relations between Chinese and Japanese peoples for generations.
On the same day, the 2021 Tokyo Institute of Technology-Dalian University of Technology Joint Workshop on Advanced Materials was also held both online and offline. More than 200 teachers and students attended the workshop.
In the coming two months, DUT will host a series of online commemorative events with Japanese partner universities, including faculty seminars, student forums, cultural exchanges, "cloud tours" of laboratories, and job and internship seminar for Japanese companies in Dalian.
