Recently, China-Japan-Korea-Indonesia Joint Symposium on Energy and Enviroment hosted by Dalian University of Technology (DUT) was successfully held online. More than 100 experts, scholars and students from DUT, Xi'an Jiaotong University, East China University of Science and Technology, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Yonsei University and Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember discussed their academic achievements and exchanged ideas through keynote speeches, oral presentations and poster presentations. This symposium aimed to provide a platform for academic cooperation and communication on hot issues such as solid waste resource utilization and energy conversion, energy socio-economic fields and so on.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Prof. Li Aimin from DUT, the chairman of the symposium, and Prof. Cong Fengyu, director of International Office, DUT, gave a speech on the international exchange policy of DUT and wished the symposium a great success. The keynote session started with the co-chairing by Prof. Li Aimin and Prof. Kunio Yoshikawa, professor of Tokyo Institute of Technology and Associate Editor-in-Chief ofApplied Energy, a leading journal in the area of energy. Prof. Li Aimen, Prof. Kunio Yoshikawa, Prof. Cross Jeffrey Scott from Tokyo Institute of Technology, and Prof. Yong-Chil Seo and Prof. Ha-Na Jang from Yonsei University gave excellent presentations.
The second part of the symposium was held in the afternoon with the form of oral presentations. More than ten experts and scholars gave excellent lectures on two major topics, which are Waste to Energy and Waste Treatment. The third part was a poster session, in which more than 30 graduate students from various schools presented.
At the end of the symposium, Prof. Li Aimen, along with Prof. Kunio Yoshikawa, Prof. Cross Jeffrey Scott and Prof. Yong-Chil Seo, and Prof. Hang Seok Choi from Yonsei University, gave a summary and closing speech of the symposium.
