Liu Shengshu from Dalian University of Technology, teamed up with Zhang Shu Xian at DAIHATSU Indonesia Masters 2023, aced the women’s doubles final against former world No.1 Yuki Fukushima/Sayaka Hirota in straight games – 22-20 21-19 – at the Istora Senayan.
Despite being partnered for the first time, Liu and Zhang remarkably dropped only one game – in the quarterfinals against compatriots Tan Ning/Xia Yu Ting – and ousted top seeds Nami Matsuyama/Chiharu Shida en route to the title.
Liu Shengshu’s victory was hard-won. It is vital important for her to fight against and learn from her seniors. Also, we wish she can continually practice to rise higher in the future.
