On June 29, Dalian International Cultural Communication Base for Overseas Chinese was officially inaugurated in the School of International Education of Dalian University of Technology (DUT). Leaders and staff from Liaoning Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, Dalian Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, and DUT School of International Education attended the ceremony and exchanged views on base construction.
During the exchange, representatives invited hoped DUT take good use of this opportunity to give full play to the role of the base, actively organize the returned overseas Chinese, their relatives and overseas Chinese to carry out colorful cultural exchange activities, tell good stories of Liaoning, Dalian and DUT and spread the voice of China to the world. Duan Yuping, Dean of the School of International Education emphasized that it is necessary to highlight the historical characteristics of DUT as the first new regular university established by the Communist Party of China (CPC) for the construction of the new China industrial system, give full play to the advantages of "double-first-class" universities in teaching, scientific research and the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and build a practice base for returned overseas Chinese where they will fully experience China's excellent traditional culture, classic local culture and advanced university culture.
After the meeting, the delegation had an in-depth discussion and exchange with the head of the Overseas Chinese Federation Program of the School of International Education, Guo Xiaoyu, on the promotion and implementation of future work and the cooperation and development of online programs and visited the international students' dormitory, canteens, live classrooms and other living and teaching facilities.
