On the afternoon of March 28, New York time, a piece of exciting news came from the Golden Hall of the United Nations headquarters, the host of 2024 National Model United Nations in New York (2024 NMUN·NY): through unremitting efforts, the 13th DUT delegation of NMUN·NY won the prize of Outstanding Delegation which stood out among more than 331 delegations constituting by 5,000 college students from 107 countries. Shi Haoyu, the DUT student leader from the school of foreign languages was invited to be appointed as a member of 2025 NMUN·NY presidium.
2024 NMUN·NY was held in New York from March 24 to 28, and the conference set up a special jury to select the winning teams based on their performance and contribution. Appointed by the organizing committee of the conference, the DUT delegation attended the conference on behalf of Jamaica, and its performance was praised by the organizing committee and representatives of all the participating countries. When the chairman of the conference announced DUT delegation won the prize at the closing ceremony in the Golden Hall of the United Nations headquarters, the audience broke into thunderous applause. It is reported that 28 delegations have been honored as Outstanding Delegation.
This is a re-start after four years of absence since DUT sending its first delegation to NMUN·NY in 2007. The honor of the Outstanding Delegation this time is the result of all the members of DUT delegation jointly overcoming the difficulties and challenges, and it’s also an excellent achievement that DUT is committed to cultivating students' international vision and communicative ability. At the same time, this fabulous fruit also shows to whole world that DUT students’ youthful vigor and unremitting perseverance.
