
Professor Gao Xiang, a distinguished academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, has been appointed as the new President of Dalian University of Technology (DUT).
The appointment, approved by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, marks a new chapter in the leadership of the prestigious university. Professor Gao will assume the role at the vice-ministerial level and serve as Deputy Secretary of the university's Party Committee.
He succeeds Professor Jia Zhenyuan, who has been relieved of his positions as President and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of DUT.
Professor Gao, born in October 1968, brings extensive academic and administrative experience to his new position. An accomplished professor in engineering with a doctoral degree, he previously served as President and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee at Zhejiang University of Technology.
His appointment as President of Dalian University of Technology is expected to further strengthen the university's position as a leading institution in higher education and scientific research.
