Professor Sun Licheng has worked at the former Institute of Photochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Max Planck Institute for Radiation Chemistry, The Free University of Berlin, The KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm University, Dalian University of Technology and Westlake University.
Professor Sun is dedicated to theoretical and applied studies of solar fuel and solar cell science and has made remarkable scientific achievements in the design and synthesis of high-efficiency water oxidation catalysts, the mechanism of oxygen-oxygen bond formation, and the design and material preparation of functional devices for hydrogen production by photolysis, leading and driving the development of the field of artificial photosynthesis. He is one of the most influential scientists in the field.
