Professor Jia Zhenyuan, elected as academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2019, is currently a member of the Party Standing Committee and Executive Vice President of Dalian University of Technology.
Professor Jia has long been engaged in theoretical, technological and applied studies of controlled machining of high performance parts of high-end equipment and achieved field-leading national-level research results in strongly anisotropic composite materials, damage suppression and controlled machining methods, the theory and methods of associated shape-controlled machining of large complex curved parts with low stiffness, and testing methods and technologies for curved parts of hard and brittle materials. His research led and driven the development of mechanical engineering disciplines and promoted the scientific and technological progress of the machinery manufacturing industry.
