ProfessorWang Liding has been working at School of Mechanical Engineering at Dalian University of Technology since 1999 and was elected as academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1995.
Professor Wang has long been engaged in the field of precision machinery and microelectromechanical systems (MEMS). He is a nationally renowned expert in ultra-precision gears and MEMS and is one of the pioneer researchers in the field. In the area of precision gear manufacturing, he has innovated ultra-precision gear grinding process, which enabled gears to be machined to an internationally advanced level of precision. In the area of precision mechanical engineering, he led a team of nearly 100 scientists and technical experts to develop China's first nano-scale precision optical disc burning masters, which integrated optical, mechanical, electrical and computational technologies and was seen as a major technological breakthrough.
